Why hire from us

What sets us apart

Four things the other operators on the Coast don't do.

01

Free delivery, and you don't tow

Most places hand you the keys and expect you to have a trailer and a 2 tonne towing capacity. Alex delivers the machine, unloads it where you want it, and collects it when you're done — free anywhere within 15 km.

02

Every attachment, no extra charge

Four buckets, ripper, grab, blade and a hydraulic thumb all come with the machine. Elsewhere a grab alone is $80 a day.

03

25 years on the machines

Alex has been operating excavators for 25 years. Never used one yourself? He'll stay and walk you through it on site for $110 for the first hour, and you'll be digging confidently before he leaves.

04

One price, no surprises

Fuel is in the price. The attachments are in the price. You get one number before you book, and that's the number you pay.

The machine

Digger King 2.3 King Pro

A 2026 machine, near new, with a swing boom and a hydraulic thumb — the two features that make tight and awkward work possible.

Operating weight2150 kg
Dig depth2.15 m
Tracks retracted990 mm
Tracks extended1240 mm
EngineKubota 18 hp
Max reach height2.49 m
Swing boomThe arm shifts sideways, so you can dig hard against a fence or wall without moving the machine.
Hydraulic thumbGrips and lifts rock, logs and rubble instead of just scooping — the reason rock walls and clean-ups work on this machine.
Fits through a gateTracks pull in to 990 mm, narrower than a standard side gate, then widen for stability once inside.

Questions

Before you book

Do I need a licence or a ticket to operate it?

Not on private property. If you're working on a commercial or council site, the site itself may require a ticket — check with whoever runs it. Alex will ask what the job is when you call.

I've never used an excavator. Can I still hire it?

Yes. Alex can stay on site and walk you through the machine for $110 for the first hour, and most people are working comfortably well inside that. Tell him when you book so he allows the time.

Do I need a trailer or a towbar?

No. We deliver every hire and collect it afterwards. There is no customer pickup — Alex loads and unloads the machine himself, which is also why nobody gets hurt doing it.

What does delivery cost?

Nothing within 15 km, which covers most of the Gold Coast — Southport, Surfers, Nerang, Robina, Helensvale, Broadbeach, Carrara and everything between them. From 15 to 30 km it's $60, and from 30 to 50 km it's $130, both ways included. Further out than that, tell us where and we'll quote it. If you're sitting right on a boundary we'll round it your way.

Will it fit through my side gate?

The tracks retract to 990 mm, which is narrower than a standard 1 m side gate, and widen again once it's through. Measure your narrowest point and tell us the number when you call.

Can it dig post holes?

Yes. An auger is available at $110 per day on top of the hire rate, with 300, 450 and 600 mm bits — covering everything from a standard fence post to a deck pier or a small footing. Tell us the diameter you need when you book so the right bit comes with the machine.

If Alex operates the machine, does he do the ground work too?

No — and it's worth being clear about it up front. Alex operates the excavator, which is where 25 years of experience actually earns its money. Wet hire covers machine work only: he stays on the machine rather than getting off to shovel, rake or shift material by hand.

Nearly every job runs faster with someone on the ground clearing as the machine works, and a faster job costs you less. You're welcome to do that yourself or put your own people on it. If you'd rather not, Alex can bring one of his labourers for $100 per hour including GST — just ask when you book so he can line someone up for the day.

What if I need to cancel, or it rains?

Cancel more than 48 hours before your booking and your deposit is refunded in full. Inside 48 hours it's retained — by then the day has been held for you and turned away from others.

Rained out, or just need to move it? Tell us and we'll shift your booking to another date and carry your deposit across at no charge. We'd rather reschedule you than keep your money — weather isn't anybody's fault.

Is fuel included?

Yes. The machine arrives with a full tank and there is no refuelling charge at the end.

What happens if I damage it?

There's a $200 bond, refunded in full if the machine comes back as it left. Anything beyond fair wear is charged to the hirer. Alex will go through the condition of the machine with you at drop-off.

What do I actually pay, and when?

Take a one day hire at $275:

$200 deposit when you book. This holds your date and comes off your hire fee — it is not an extra charge.
$75 balance on the day. That's the $275 paid in full.
A $200 bond at delivery, held separately and refunded to you when the machine comes back undamaged.

So the hire costs you $275. The bond is separate money that you get back. Bank transfer, PayID, card or cash.
